A voice from the past

Arrived in Tengboche. It’s located around 5 hours away from Namche Bazar, I got there after 3 hours trek, so I’m still in a good shape! Lunch time – to my surprise I met my old cook from Cho Oyu expedition Kapur. It’s great to see old friends here. We talked about the old times and man, how the time flies…

Another nice surprise during the trek to Tengboche was finding my old Z-Wave Ama Dablam sticker on one of the buidings’ window, so I’ve decided to stick the new one – FIBARO Everest Challenge sticker next to it. It was like a voice from the past haha…

Let me tell you something about Tengboche lodge. It’s situated on 3800m above sea level and it’s on the main route to the Base Camp. Everyone who is on the way to Mount Everest will walk through this place. Tengboche is a wonderful place not only because of its famous Buddist monastery but also because of the unique views. During the trek you can discover magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks from Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thermasharkhu and Kwangde.

What you may not know about Tengboche, is that there is a Buddhist monastery and a museum. It is one of the most famous places in the mountains of the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal. The monastery is an important part of Nepal’s heritage and lies on the Sagarmatha National Park area which is also recognized as the UNESCO World Heritage Site of “outstanding universal value”.

Next stop Pheriche – it’s located on the 4930m above sea level. It’s a small village on the way to Base Camp but I will meet many other climbers there as well. I discovered that my phone will not work for the next 2 days but the batteries are fine so at least I can take some pics from the trek.

Everest in the background left from me. Ama Dablam right from me:

Ama Dablam, I cannot believe that I climbed it in 2011:
